Staffing levels of sworn deployable police officers is currently 211.  The minimum staffing of the Wilmington Police Department is approximately 280.  Unfortunately, the citizens have been misled about their protection.

We need to address our: crowded roads (high traffic crash/pedestrian fatality occurrences), strained water and sewer systems, and high density development.  What are your tax dollars doing for you and your family?

Our area, our city has great diversity.  In this diversity are great thinkers, doers and those who want us all to have mutual respect.  Bringing not only facets of local governments together; we need to bring our religious communities, private entities, non-profits and corporate partners together to tackle quality of life issues.

Over the past 10 years, there has been approximately a 30% increase to our property taxes.  What are you getting for your hard earned dollars?  We do not need more taxes.

Unfortunately, when an employee has stepped forward and has spoken out against unfairness, they have been retaliated against.  The City of Wilmington Mayor has been made aware on numerous occasions and has turned his head and morals from blatant facts.  This protection aligns with retaining employees the city has invested in to only have them walk away.  Of course better pay and benefits would help keep hardworking employees in our communities.
